Homework Policy
Grades
-
Students will receive a letter grade A, B, C, D, F in the core subjects.
(LA, Math, Science, History, PE, Music)
-
The grade in each subject is weighted:
-
50% Assignments
-
50% Tests/Quizzes/Projects
-
-
The grade is based upon a straight grading scale:
-
90%-100% is an A
-
80%-89% is a B
-
70%-79% is a C
-
I try to avoid + and - however, the grading program doesn’t let me avoid it completely
Late Work
-
Large assignments or projects will be accepted up to one week late for a lesser grade. After that, these assignments will receive a zero.
-
HMWK/CLWK will be accepted if turned in within the same Unit of Study (i.e. a Unit 1 Spelling packet would not be accepted if we are already on Unit 2)
Homework
Typically due the next day
-
If there is a math lesson that day they will have a math assignment
-
Language Arts homework is daily and designed to reinforce the correct spelling and grammar
-
Reading 20 minutes a day and completing the Novel Study Journal
-
Science and Social studies homework will be assigned on occasion
-
Unfinished work will also be assigned as homework at times, if a student is falling behind
